Patrick Blindauer’s Final Monthly Website Puzzle, and Why That Is So

For the 57th and final time I’m blogging Patrick Blindauer‘s monthly website puzzle. This has been a magnificent series, but the occasion is in fact a rebirth and thus cause for celebration.

We’ll get to that in a moment, but first let’s look at Patrick’s final monthly puzzle:

Theme entries are:

17-A [What I’m very excited to announce!] = NEW URL
40-A [With 65-Across, my 17-Across] = PATRICK’S PUZZLES
65-A [See 40-Across] = DOT COM

And there it is, his new site: http://www.patrickspuzzles.com/ Looks good! Fancy.

You can check out all of Patrick’s puzzle activities there, but the big thing is his Kickstarter campaign. This is for his forthcoming weekly feature Piece of Cake Crosswords, which will be a 15×15 delivered to your inbox once per week for $29/yr.

I will certainly be kicking in to that — as this series has shown, Patrick has one of the most creative minds — many months, the most creative mind — writing puzzles today. It’s cool that he’s moving his monthly to a weekly and I have no doubt that his fanbase will come along for what’s sure to be an entertaining ride.

So thanks for these puzzles, Patrick, and I’ll see you over at the new site. 5 stars for this brilliant series, which twice won my Crossword of the Month award and was nominated many other times.

The puzzles were always the best kind of twisty fun; often they were magical.
